The situation
The system worked. It was just slow, across hundreds of everyday tasks, and that adds up to a real cost in time and patience.
A slow system that still works is easy to put up with, and easy to keep putting off, because nothing is actually broken. ACC took the opposite view. It wanted the system quick, and a stronger platform underneath it so that future development wasn’t built on the same limits.
What we did
We worked on the SQL Server environment behind the application, in three directions at once.
Speed. We removed the delays users were hitting in their everyday work.
The platform. We strengthened the database platform itself, so there’s a sound base for whatever is built next.
Tools for ACC’s own team. The updated environment made logging and monitoring possible, so ACC’s IT team can see how the system is performing and spot problems before users report them.
What changed
Everyday tasks got faster straight away, and feedback from staff was positive. The system stopped being something people worked around.
ACC also came away with a platform it can build on and a view of its own system’s performance it didn’t have before.
